Social Determinants of Health (SDOH)

New Z Codes Capture More Social Determinants of Health ...

Goal

For many liver diseases, such as autoimmune hepatitis, the etiopathogenesis and pathophysiology is still unknown. The goal of this project is to gather information from patients and providers to unravel these mysteries. We will administer surveys that will ask participants about different domains, such as education, security, and life experiences. Some questions ask about clinical care, disease status, and patient-physician interactions. We will assess aspects of participants' social background that have been challenging as well as aspects that have been helpful.  We would like to learn about the experience of illness from multiple perspectives, including how social determinants in patients with liver diseases influence their general health and the course of their liver disease. The ultimate reason to administer this questionnaire is to improve medical knowledge and clinical care by analyzing different responses to the various questions that will be administered.

How to participate?

Thank you for your time and taking part in this survey on social determinants of health in patients with liver diseases. Social determinants are the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider set of systems shaping the conditions of daily life. These conditions can influence your general health and the course of your liver disease.
