Our first studies were based on clinical observations that there was a large contingent of Latinx patients with autoimmune hepatitis at our hospital. We then corroborated those observations with data from ZSFG and HCUP (Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project). We found that AIH disproportionaltely affected people of color at ZSFG and nationally.
